Tribewanted Sierra Leone’s Sustainable Seafood Policy

Tribewanted Sierra Leone has created a sustainable seafood policy to help preserve the fish stocks and ocean health and to support local fishermen.

This policy includes purchasing the most sustainable (plentiful and fast-growing) fish for meals and not purchasing unsustainable fish stocks (sharks, skates, stingrays, sea turtles) from the most selective catch methods (harpoon, hook, hand collection, large mesh nets) whenever possible.

Fish are purchased from the John Obey fishing village as often as possible to support local fishermen fishing with the most selective methods.
